Installation · Space
An immersive installation that explores a fictional city; the experience focuses on sound, scent and spatiality to recreate an atmosphere, avoiding visual recreation, iconography or any representation that appeals to the sense of sight. This installation has specialized sound that invites traversing a space invaded by tangible shadows while listening to short stories about some of them.

Light and shadow installation — site-specific space
La Ciudad de las Sombras — Installation, Universidad de los Andes, 2022
This work nourished itself across its different media. While designing the spatiality I began designing the sound and writing the stories. After many tests I managed to sculpt the busts with plaster on gauze. The spatiality created by these figures enclosed in the veil gave meaning to the sound spatiality, which was driven mainly by a digital recreation of rain.
Finally I recorded the voices for the stories and put everything together in the assembly. It was important to me to be in darkness and give priority to the sound experience. I accompanied the installation with copal, a resin that releases a smell similar to humidity when boiled.
«The shadow is not the absence of light — it is its most honest architecture.»
